Preventative Treatments
Your periodontal (gum/bone) assessment will identified gum infection in areas of your mouth.
The maintenance care is to secure optimal control and to prevent the return of any gum disease.

Orthodontics
One can regard orthodontic treatment as a two stage process.
The first stage is the fixed stage, which involves the dentist and the patient. During this stage, in most cases, the patient has no control over the orthodontic process.
Once the teeth are straightened and the braces are removed, we enter the final stage of treatment. This stage is completely dependent on patient compliance.

Conservative Treatment
A nerve on a tooth dies or becomes infected for a number of reasons. The most common reason is caries
We practice and teach preventative dentistry rather than conservative dentistry. Thus we encourage patients not to miss their 6 monthly checkups in which special x-rays can be taken from which teeth can be checked and then cleaned thus ensuring that optimum oral health can be achieved.

Dentures
Special care has to be given to both your new dentures as well as to your mouth.

In hospital procedures and specialised work requires the booking of a theatre, anaesthetist and/or a formal referral from our dentistry.
In order to ensure your have the correct work done in the correct areas of your mouth we use our records and recommendations when referring you to our specialised network medical and cosmetic professionals .

Sedation
We consider 3 forms of sedation depending on your recommended treatment and age.
Nitrous Oxide is known as laughing gas or happy gas. It has no colour nor smell and does not make you sleep. Conscious sedation takes place at our practice. General anesthetic will take place in hospital.

Crowns, bridges and veneers are expensive privileges placed in the mouths of individuals who are considered most able to take care of them. Our maintenance programme consists of 3 components.
Any sensitivity must be discussed with your dentist. Be responsible and ensure that you see the hygienist every 6 months.
